Data Collected

When you subscribe to the Services we will collect and hold your name, email address and country of residence ("Personal Data"). We need your name for registration purposes, your email address to identify you as one of our customers when you log in and your country of residence so that we can ascertain the need to account for any local taxes within your Membership Fee.

We also collect the names and email addresses of the intended recipients of the ecards chosen by you. In addition, if you choose to use the Skyblue birthday reminder service then we ask for the birthday of your chosen contacts. Where intended recipients are based outwith the European Economic Area (EEA), you hereby consent to your Personal Data and Recipient Data being sent outwith the EEA to enable the e-cards to be sent.

We will be happy to answer any enquiries from you regarding this Privacy Policy, the Personal Data we hold about you/from you or the use we make of it. You also have the right under the UK Data Protection Act 1998 to know about the information we hold about you. This is known as a "Subject Access Request". Subject Access Requests should be made, in writing, to the address noted in the Contact Us section of the Website. We may charge a small fee for dealing with Subject Access Requests.

You can change any of your Personal Data details or the details of any Recipient Data in your address book and reminder service at any time by logging in to the "Members Section" of the Website.

In order to pay for Membership to the Services you will leave the Website and be directed to the PayPal secure payment gateway ("PayPal"). Credit card and bank details will be collected by PayPal and will not be disclosed to or held by us in any way. PayPal will only inform us that you have paid for Membership.

We gather data with regard to usage of the Website eg unique visitor statistics, website searches etc. We use this to help us improve the Website and to promote our Website to the media and potential sponsors or affiliates. However, Personal Data is not collected as part of the generic data.

All Personal Data will be used and held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 We will use and process your Personal Data in the following ways :-

• to send ecards to your chosen recipients;
• to send relevant email notifications e.g. sent/received cards; reminder emails as stipulated in your birthday reminders list; information emails e.g. Membership renewal reminders; help and support emails where help and support is requested by you;
• from time to time, we may use Personal Data to let you know about other Services, products and special offers we provide and also provide you with information and updates about our business. If you do not wish to receive such information please email support@skybluecards.com or go to Change Details within the Members section and you can choose to opt out of any such information
• your email address is used in the information sent to your chosen card recipients so that they can identify the source of the card greeting before accessing it.
• we will not divulge your Personal Data or any Recipient Data to any third party, except to the recipient of an e-card which you have requested we send;
• we reserve the right to access and disclose Personal Data to comply with applicable laws and lawful government requests and to enable us to operate our systems properly, administer the Website or to protect ourselves or other Website users.

We make use of cookies, which are files placed on your computer that enable us to track certain information regarding your use of the Website. See section 7 of our Terms and Conditions for further details, but in summary -

Your information is stored on our dedicated servers which are hosted within a UK based independent secure Data Centre featuring state-of-the-art security features.

This means that sometimes we may ask for proof of identity before we disclose Personal data to you.
